Election night was nuts if you were in downtown Chicago! Obama gave his speech to an estimated quarter of a million people huddled around numerous gigantic televisions. Downtown Chicago was completely immobile to all vehicles after Obama’s speech, as hoards of people walked back to the trains. Check out these photos from the day we were all waiting for.
Halloween was anything but planned out this year. After going to Pilsen for a house party, we weren’t even there for 5 minutes before the scariest costumes of the night showed up and shut it down. With people standing on the street dressed anywhere from male versions of Pocahontas to the all-too-familiar painted skeleton faces, everyone was trying to figure out where the next party was at. Trying to avoid the most obvious parties going on around town, we decided to hit up some house parties for a change. Check out what Chi-Town had going on for Halloween this year.
This post is a mix between Pop Life, Vagabond and everything between. “Pop Life,” at White Room every saturday was filled with a young good-looking crowd. After leaving White Room we went to Vagabond which had to be near capacity. A little after party at the end as well. Check out these pictures from the city I miss!!
The “Institute of Sound,” a new monthly party at Indra Lounge was rockin friday night! Featuring DJ’s Jason Tyler, DJ ToyMaster, Matty Irish and DJ Lee Or. Thrown by Erich Neumann, Jose Cabrera and Donde Dave, the party definitely had the best in electronic music locked down and the place full of people ready to dance!
Whew it feels good to be out of the cold and in warm south beach! Here are some pics from last night and a little walk around Sobe yesterday. Although this isn’t my usual post, it will give you a feel for south beach and the Art Deco style of living.
…but Amanda was fierce! If you don’t know about Stardust now, then you missed out on yet another great party thrown by Scott Cramer and others. Amanda Lepore made Berlin go nuts! And if her stellar performance wasn’t enough, leaving the stage in her birthday suit was sure to make it an unforgettable night! Speaking of birthdays, this was Scott Cramer’s birthday party as well. The red carpet and volcano with bubbles provided the backdrop on an awesome kick-off to a weekly party sure to keep people coming back for more. Capcom took to the decks and kept the party rockin’ til 4. Check out Berlin on a Thursday night for what looks to be a promising party for months to come. Happy Birthday Scott!
“Hot Wax,” at Lava Lounge was an eruption of bangin’ music and 50-cent Sparks! Spinning records was Jason Tyler, 6:43PM and The Son, Hilary Rawk, and Avi Sic. Check out the pictures of the lively goodlooking crowd.
“Dance Planet,” a night featuring DJ’s Jason Tyler, The Livewire and Demchuk, had a great turnout! In one of Chicago’s newest clubs, it was hard not to dance. Featuring a belly-dance performance by Kyren and Jason Tyler blaring on the trumpet, everyone was well entertained. If you’re looking for something new and fun, check out the Cat’s Meow!
Fun…Fun…Fun…that’s all I can say about this night! What started out as a small soiree of friends at JoJo’s Attic turned into a bash at Berlin. This post will take you along the route of the night, from JoJo’s infamous Attic all the way to Berlin, and then back to North, Milwaukee and Damen where we met up with some of Wicker Park’s finest. Greg Haus was Djing at Berlin. Along with JoJo are club creatures Zazoo and Satori, making this a very colorful and artistic post.
Beverly Hills was a blast! Cole Sternberg’s gallery showing included Jason Tyler and Alex Zelenka on the decks at the glamorous after party. MelissFX threw some vocals over Alex’s set as well! I tossed in some pictures from around LA including some spots in Silver Lake. Up next…Club Kids night out!
